This is my main gnosis: to make a cartoon is the condensation of my inner feeling to a funny expression! The process of expression of this is full of relish, it is like an endorphine popping, a bliss hormone producing doing; it makes me happy, so I must do it also in future!

Originally, humans did not have a nose. They lived happily and contently, even without a nose. There was no sneezing nor snuffles: one looked at the world through one`s eyes and listened to one`s fellow man with one`s ears.

When I was a student I knew a girl who had a rather big but thereby beautiful nose: the nose gave her face expression and character. After years, I met her by accident. She seemed familiar but I did not recognize her. The reason for this was that she had a nose correction done. An impressive nose had turned into an insignificant nose. However, her facial expression and character was completely changed. At that time  I thought to myself „ Shame about the beautiful nose “However I kept this to myself, as I did not wish to irritate the girl. I do not know whether she became happier with the new nose. I felt quite guilty, since I should have told her that years ago. As an excuse I have to add: She did not have the nose correction done because of me. Therefore I wrote and drew this book about the nose and the intention to tell people to stand by their nose, since for me there is nothing like an ugly nose only people whom one likes or dislikes.

Love Your Nose

Als ich noch ein Student war, habe ich ein Mädchen gekannt, das zwar eine etwas große, aber gerade dadurch eine wunderschöne Nase gehabt hatte; ihre Nase hat ihrem Gesicht besonderen Ausdruck und Charakter verliehen. Nach Jahren habe ich dieses Mädchen zufällig wiedergetroffen. Sie ist mir zwar bekannt vorgekommen, aber ich habe sie nicht mehr wiedererkannt. Die Ursache war: sie hatte eine Nasenkorrektur durchführen lassen. Aus der ausdrucksstarken Nase war eine unauffällige Nase geworden. Jedoch der Ausdruck und der Charakter ihres Gesichtes hatten sich völlig verändert. Ich habe mir damals gedacht: „Schade um die schöne Nase.“ Ich habe das allerdings für mich behalten, denn ich wollte jenes Mädchen nicht irritieren. Ich weiß auch nicht, ob sie mit ihrer neuen Nase glücklicher geworden ist. Ich fühlte mich fast schuldig, denn schließlich hätte ich ihr das Jahre früher sagen müssen. Ich muss allerdings zu meiner Entschuldigung hinzufügen: Sie hat die Nasenkorrektur auch nicht wegen mir gemacht!

Daher schrieb und zeichnete ich ein Buch über die Nase mit dem Ziel, den Menschen zu sagen, dass man zu seiner Nase stehen sollte, denn für mich gibt es keine hässlichen Nasen, sondern nur Menschen, die man riechen kann und Menschen, die man nicht riechen kann.
